چکیده
Abstract: The formula of the Generalized Ambiguity Function (GAF) of passive bistatic SAR 11 system using the non-cooperative illuminators which transmit PSK modulating signals is derived 12 to analyze the spatial resolution of the system. The average GAF is introduced to remove the effect 13 of particular sequence of symbols on resolution because the particular sequence of symbols is 14 usually unpredictable before being received. The influence of the waveform parameters of the PSK 15 modulating signals, such as length of the symbol sequence and roll-off factor, on spatial resolution 16 is investigated by numerical simulation. It is confirmed that the influence of the length of the 17 symbol sequence and roll-off factor is very slight but still exists. 18

Target Detection in Bistatic Passive Radars by Using Adaptive Processing Based on Correntropy Cost Function
In this paper a novel method is introduced for target detection in bistatic passive radars which uses the concept of correntropy to distinguish correct targets from false detections. In proposed method the history of each cell of ambiguity function is modeled as a stochastic process. Then the stochastic processes consist the noise are differentiated from those consisting targets by constructing...
متن کاملPassive Bistatic Radar and Waveform Diversity
This tutorial describes the basis of passive bistatic radar (PBR) systems, and in particular the nature of the waveforms of illuminators of opportunity that they exploit. It shows that there is a wide variety of such waveforms, from broadcast, communications and radionavigation transmissions, and that in general they are not optimum for radar purposes. In addition, they usually vary significant...
متن کاملAnalysis and Focusing for Bistatic Forward-looking Sar in Spaceborne/stationary Configuration
The conventional monostatic SAR shows a limitation of achieving a high azimuth (angular) resolution if a forward-looking geometry is used [1]-[2]. One problem of the forward-looking configuration is that the differences in the Doppler frequencies of adjacent terrain points in the along-track direction are much smaller than the differences in the Doppler frequencies of adjacent terrain points in...
متن کاملSAR Cross-Ambiguities in SAOCOM-CS Large Baseline Bistatic Configuration
The evaluation of the ambiguity-to-signal ratio (ASR) plays a key role in the Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) design and performance prediction. In conventional SAR acquisition scenarios, the computation of the ASR is based on the evaluation of the range and azimuth ambiguous contributions. Though appealing for its simplicity, this approach could be inaccurate in case of complex SAR acquisition ...
متن کاملNew processing approach and results for bistatic TerraSAR-X/F-SAR spaceborne-airborne SAR experiments
In November 2007, the first bistatic SAR spaceborne-airborne X-band campaign was carried out , using TerraSAR-X as transmitter and DLR’s new airborne SAR system F-SAR as receiver [1]. The importance of the experiment was not only due to its pioneering character, but also to its potential to serve as a test-bed for the validation of non-stationary bistatic acquisition procedures, novel calibrati...
